Web designers work a lot on Photoshop. Very few of them know how to code and take the steps to convert their designs into CSS/HTML/XHTML. So they normally outsource their coding part and keep themselves intact with designing only. For those who are not familiar with the “the know how” of HTML coding, this article can be a little help for them.

It is not hard to convert your design into validate CSS/HTML/XHTML markup, but what makes the difference is how well you are able to do it! Because at last, it is the “quality” of your coding which brings out the performance of the web page, and the reason for which any designers outsource their coding part to some professional. Ex: – If your web page contains many pictures, it would take time to load, but using CSS code with either HTML or XHTML will make it fast.

There are many tutorials one could find over the Internet but to understand those prototypes, you need to have the basic knowledge of coding. I would try to answer the question “How to convert a PSD into validate CSS/HTML/XHTML”, but for that you need to focus and spare sometime to this article.

Steps included in conversion:-

1) Open your Photoshop and select an existing PSD file which is to be sliced, from the file menu of the Photoshop application’s main menu.

2) Once the PSD file is selected, go back to the file menu and select Edit in Image Ready option from the list. It will open the file in Image Ready.

3) Now select slice tool from tools palette which can be either on right or left hand side, vertically. This tool will help us to slice the document the way we want. Ex: – you can pick and slice the document to get the header, menu pictures etc., properly.

4) Once you are through with the slicing, you will notice those sliced area (areas) sinking into blue color. This indicates “slicing”.

Imp:- Never slice an image twice as it will only increase your burden.

5) The next important step is to define the output parameter. This will convert the slices into pictures along with coding.

6) Define output parameters to start the process: -

a. Click the file menu, open output settings, and choose the CSS export link.

b. An output setting box will appear on screen, along with many options.

c. Now, select the custom option within output setting, you will get two options- slice output and generate (CSS) ( generate html which uses CSS to represent slices).

d. Click ‘ok’ after defining output options. You have validated the settings but the file is yet to be created.

e. Now, this is the final step. Save the result using “save optimized”, inside the file menu.

f. The job is done; image ready will create an “image” folder with all sliced images and html file containing all source codes.

g. If you wish to see or edit the code, just open the file in your browser and display the code. Extract the code generated by Photoshop or image ready.

h. You are done now, your codes are with you but you might need to modify them with your own and nip some part of it.

Now if you think that you got it right and this article delivered you some valuable knowledge on slicing and HTML conversion, then you can surely dissect your web design and experiment it on a web site. But if you have even a minuscule doubt, then don’t play with your web site’s design and let the coding be done by some professionals.

Web design changes with lightening speed. You want to stay on top of the new technology if you expect to get new clients. Creating your website in Dreamweaver is a good idea but you want to know how to do all of the things in Dreamweaver without the program. The reason why you want to be able to hand code is because there are things that are much easier to do by hand than by using Dreamweaver.

As a freelance web designer you should be well versed in Dreamweaver and Photoshop and all of the other programs that can be used to make websites beautiful. However, you also need to know CSS and XHTML. The notion that knowing the front end of Dreamweaver and other software without knowing the back end is not necessarily true. You want to be able to offer clients a number of different options when it comes to your creative skills.

Finding work as a freelance web designer can be tough. However there are a few places that you should get your website posted and advertise for work. If you are looking for any type of freelance work there are a number of sites, such as Sologig.com that you can register with. You will be able to post some clips and other information about what type of services you are offering. Jobs postings from around the country can be found there.

Web designers typically get work online but you might be surprised at how much work you can get form word of mouth. There is always someone that needs a website for something. Some people have a product that they would like to sell online but have no idea how to put a website together. Some schools would like to have a website for one of their sports teams but there is no one the staff that can do it. These are great opportunities that you can get from just talking to people that you know. Make sure that you tell everyone that you are a freelance web designer. You will be surprised at how many people are interested in your services.

It is important to have a rate chart established before you start looking for work. There are plenty of people online that will try to get you to work for much less than what your skills are worth. Check around and see what the standard rates are for whatever applications you are doing. You do not want to spend item doing work for less than what you should be making. Have a rate chart and stick to it. O not let people talk you down on your rates. Offer a money back guarantee if you do not deliver the work when you are supposed to with all of the attributes that are supposed to be there.

Every internet marketer will say that you must have your own list of subscribers. “The money is in the list,” as they say. This is very true. Having your own list of subscribers can make a huge impact on your business.

I’m not going to bore you about the many benefits though, because I want to explain to you how to build a list of subscribers in as little as a week using PLR content.

The best part about all of this is that it will not cost you a single cent. You read that correctly; you won’t have to pay anything at all. It isn’t hard and will only require some effort on your part. I will show you step-by-step how you can do this.

To start, you must have your own product. Now I know what you’re thinking, but if you stay with me for a minute I will explain how you can do this in as little as 30 minutes. If you can spare just 30 minutes, and you should since this is your business we’re talking about, then you can do this.

The key is getting your hands on some PLR content. PLR is simply Private Lable Rights content that you have the right to do whatever you want to it. You can get articles, ebooks, software and whatever else you can think of.

I chose to create an ebook from a Word document. I will outline the steps I took to accomplish this and then explain how to build a list from your new product.

1. I opened the document and read through the information, correcting any spelling and grammar errors. This step is important as many times there are errors that need corrected. I added a personal note and a picture of myself. I also put my website address in the footer of every page, this is part of branding yourself.

2. Then I converted the document into a PDF document, known as an ebook. I fine-tuned the details and layout until everything looked the way I wanted it. I gave my new ebook a name and saved it. You can download a free PDF printer driver at http://www.pdf995.com/download.html. Be sure to also download the Pdfedit995 and Signature995 files as well.

3. Then I wanted to create a graphic for my ebook. I have Photoshop so I got a hold of some very nice action scripts to create a professional looking ebook cover. Action scripts are great if you’re not familiar with all the editing tools that Photoshop has to offer. You can download a free action script at http://mintyferret.com/photoshop/free-ebook-action-creator/. If you don’t have Photoshop there are free picture editors that will do pretty much the same thing that these scripts will do. You’ll just have to do some searching to find them.

4. Once I got the graphic created I uploaded the ebook and graphic to my server. This shouldn’t take more than one or two minutes depending on how big your files are.

5. My ebook is done, and now it’s time for me to start promoting it. I created a blog post with a direct download link to my ebook, talked about it on Twitter, provided a link to my blog post, advertised in forums and sent an email out to my list.

Those are the main steps I took to create my ebook from PLR content and promote it. However, we are not done. That promotion as you will soon see didn’t gain me any subscribers at all.

This may seem crazy to some, but I didn’t ever ask for a single name or email address. I just provided a link for them to directly download my ebook.

You may be wondering then how I managed to get over 165 subscribers in less than a week. Yep, you read that right. The simple answer on how to build a list with your new product is JV Giveaways.

I added my ebook to a JV Giveaway promotion, and I advertised the promotion as well using the same methods above. This has to be one of the fastest ways I have seen to build your list. The best part is you can do this absolutely free.

So that’s how to build a list using PLR content. It’s been over a week, but I’m still getting new names and email addresses being added to my list. It doesn’t get much easier than that.

If you own a website, perhaps you are familiar with this problem. You have your images created in an application such as Photoshop, and Photoshop save your source files as PSD files. That is the file format recognized by the image software. When you double click on these files, Photoshop will be launched automatically, and you will be able to continue working on the images.

Some designers are so good with Photoshop that they design entire websites in this application. Sometimes, designs can be really complicated. But here is when trouble starts brewing.

Photoshop is an excellent piece of software. But the problem with PSD files is that you can’t upload it to your website so that others can see your work. In other words, PSD file formats are not web friendly. There is additional work to be done before your PSD files can be displayed on the web. If you want to publish your PSD files on the web, you will need to convert the files into a language that is used for web publishing. For instance, you will have to publish your files in HTML (hyper text markup language) or CSS (cascading style sheets). Once your files have been converted, you will be able to upload them into your web server, just like you would with ordinary web pages. You may also edit the HTML coding if you like with any text editor.

As you can see, there are many different ways to publish your PSD files on the web. You choose to publish the files in HTML, XHTML, or pure CSS. The choice is up to you. The language that you decide to publish in depends very much on your own familiarity with the language. For example, if you are more familiar with basic HTML, you may wish to convert your PSD files to just HTML files to that you can make changes to the files whenever there is a need.

The actual conversion process is not exceeding difficult, but it is a task that can take up quite a bit of time, especially if you are not familiar with coding. If you find yourself in a similar situation, perhaps you may wish to consider outsourcing this task to someone who has the skills to do the job properly. Ideally, whoever is helping you do the job should have some background in HTML or CSS coding. This is to ensure that when you get back the files, the coding should be error free. If there are coding errors, your web pages may not display correctly on the browsers.

It is also important that the coding is cross browser compatible. There are many browsers available for download on the Internet. Of course, Internet Explorer is still leading the pack. But Firefox is narrowing the gap rather quickly. Now you have Google Chrome, which is a new (free) browser released by the giant search engine. Make sure that your files display correctly on all the different browsers.

What you may not be ware of is there are actually superior alternatives to these professional web design tools. Especially if you are a small business or simply looking to utilize a more complete solution for your Perth Web Development needs. Any company from a large Web Design Perth based company to a small web development team can take advantage of one of the most complete solutions for pixel and vector graphics available online. The best part about this is, they are absolutely free. Open source programmers have created GIMP and InkScape, the alternatives to Photoshop and Illustrator respectively.

These are absolutely free and available to use, modify and pass on to others so long as they remain 100% free for all users. This does not mean a compromise on quality for Perth Web Development or Web Design Perth; in fact it means an over all improvement. Both of these programs have been developed by dedicated programmers for free distribution on the Internet and both of these programs have had all the best graphics programs in mind. These programs are made by the people who use them or used Photoshop and Illustrator and they are constantly being updated and developed further by the ongoing project team so you can ensure high quality and up to date Web Design Perth creations.

What makes these programmes far superior as web design tools, are the features they contain. Everything you can do in illustrator you can do in InkScape, everything you could do in Photoshop you can do in GIMP and you can even open your old Photoshop and Illustrator files in these programs just as you could before. On top of this, these programs come loaded with the very best of a whole variety of graphical design features from the very best programs so you get the best of everything. These really do provide the ultimate free graphical solution for Web Design Perth teams available readily and easily online. There are a range of demonstrations, example design works, tutorials and help guides to get you started but if you are already familiar with Photoshop and Illustrator you will be able to pick up these programs easily.

Most of the key functions are the same or similar and the functionality is the same with added extra bonus features. This means Web Design Perth teams can keep website design costs low as there are no costs associated with keeping up to date software packages for graphical design. Perth Web Development stays on top of the rest with the complete package absolutely free enabling high quality work and affordable rates. This is just one example of how Perth Web Development can develop effective and quick solutions for your website needs at an affordable rate ensuring you have a high quality website and an efficient project development.

Preflight for Graphic Design and Prepress, an Application or Process?

Designers and prepress operators often think of Preflight as an application. An application that runs on files to verify files and identify potential problems. I have trained hundreds of operators in how to prepare First Time Right Postscript and PDF files. That’s the first thing that I set folks straight on.

Preflight is a process. It’s a process of going through every predictable problem that can happen with your printing job. If you think it’s a software that you run and that’s it, you are not going to be able to produce First Time Right PDF files. There are many, many things that software cannot even check for, and things unique to YOUR jobs, customers, company that are important. Things that MUST be checked to ensure success and accuracy.

50% of commercial printing is headed for a delay or additional costs:

Publishers and printers regularly report more than 50 percent of the digital files they receive are improperly prepared to spec. Thus, these files will need preflight & then repair to go forward. This may be done by a publisher, printer, or kicked back to the graphic designer. At stake is the budget and schedule of the print project. Now, think about that… 50% of commercial printing projects are destined for a delay in schedule or additional costs when submitted!

A graphic design project may be made for print, web, and or video. Depending on the type of media, documents must be prepared exactly to specifications based on final output media. Common file flaws include fonts not embedded or supplied, color space(CMYK vs. RGB, or inappropriate use of Pantone or specialty colors), and resolution conflicts. These are some of the many things that can be identified quickly by Preflight tools. A Preflight tool is utility software that is specially suited to help identify these file issues.

Preflight Software, helpful, required, but not a Whole Solution:

So there are tools that help. But what about things you have to identify by visual inspection? What about bleed and trim margins, placement and position, checking dates on event ads and coupon ads. What about checking every full page ad that is a repeat to be sure that the folio (page number) is deleted or updated. What about copy flow from 2 successive documents in a publication. These are all things that must be checked visually by a human. So, if you want to be a top notch designer or prepress operator, there is a list of important Preflight items that you, the human, must check. I always advise people to develop and update THEIR LIST every time a mistake is found or caught. Use the list as a checklist often enough that it becomes completely automatic to you as you prepare and process graphics files. If you get burned on a project, think of making that a part of your preflight checklist. An example or beginning preflight checklist can be found at this URL, review it and use it as a starting point.

http://prepressforum.com/preflight/job_planning.html

Preflighting Applications, Help, and History of Preflight:

I once read an article that stated Preflight Applications were invented in the 1990’s. Actually, preflight applications are nothing new at all. The early layout applications like Quark Xpress, Aldus PageMaker, Adobe Photoshop, Ready Set Go, were the first preflight applications. Preflight applications were invented in the 80’s, and have been improved upon and developed since. Today there is a Free Preflight Tool available called FreeFlight™ at the URL below, you can download the software free and get free help and support.

http://FREE-PREFLIGHT.com

There is also an online community at PREPRESSFORUM.COM that has extensive and free, user to user support. I help folks there most every day and the site is chock full of great insider tips, tricks, problems and solutions. I would encourage any designer, publisher, or printer to join and participate, teach or learn. All experience levels are welcome to post and answer questions at this site.

Examples of First Preflight Software Tools:

Example (A) PageMaker has a links palette that scanned through the document providing a report about images linked/missing, RGB/CMYK, Tiff/EPS, etc. This was a preflight results report covering the main document AND many support document files combined. Thus Pagemaker was a preflight tool that could report on files originating from other applications, like scans. It would give the user a list of confirmations and or problems identified that was to be used to repair and prepare files prior to output.

Example (B) Quark Xpress has had a usage palette, when called, it scans through the open document providing detailed reports about fonts used/missing, images used/missing/modified, image types, image colors, image paths. This was a preflight results report covering the open document AND many support document files combined. Thus Quark Xpress was a preflight tool that could report on files originating in other applications, like scans. It would give the user a list of confirmations and or problems identified that was to be used to repair and prepare files prior to output. Additionally Quark Xpress may have started collect for output, a feature mentioned in other patents from the 1990’s regarding preflight software invention.

Example© Adobe Photoshop was used to inspect and verify images. Back in the day, a user would grab all the Tiffs and Eps placed into a job. The selected files drag & dropped onto Adobe Photoshop would automatically open and display the color space in the title bar of each file, CMYK/RGB/Grayscale etc. Thus Adobe PhotoShop was a preflight tool that could report on files originating from other applications. An operator could open the Image size palette and verify resolution before closing each document. Thus a semi-automatic preflight of graphic images was performed. So, yes, Adobe Photoshop was and still is a preflight application and a file repair application that could inspect and identify problems in files which it did not originate.

Preflighting, Today’s Hottest Current Applications:

QuarkXpress 6.5, QuarkXpress 7, Adobe InDesign CS2, these applications have built in preflight function these days. Unlike all other preflight software, these are native function that is fast and effective. Best of all, they come at no additional cost to the designer, publisher, or printer. These are built into both of today’s most common preflight applications.

However, there’s a few very critical holes in the built in preflight of these applications. No need to worry, there’s a FREE preflight application caller FreeFlight™ that has been recently released to address this. The application is a free download from a Quark Xtension and Adobe Plug-In developer site . FreeFlight is a must have tool that supplements the use of QuarkXpress and Adobe InDesign CS2 built in preflight. You can download and read about FreeFlight™ at this URL.

http://FREE-PREFLIGHT.com

“Preflighting” as a printing term came to popularity in the 1990s as printers and service bureaus ensured that problematic files would be caught and fixed before they found their way into CTF (Computer to Film) workflow. In this century the term has evolved into other variations, like post-flight, indicating when in the workflow the file is actually verified. To Preflight is proactive quality control, Postflight is reactive quality control. Preflight is good manufacturing process, Postflight is not. This may be a nice topic for later. Take my word on it and avoid Postflight workflow schemes. Real craftsmen and professionals find and fix all problems at the earliest possible point. Many of these tools below are actually post-flight oriented tools.

Preflighting, The Older Expensive Applications for the job at hand:

Markzware FlightCheck Classic: This preflight software is developed by Markzware Software. Markzware’s FlightCheck Classic is a standalone application that scans, verifies and collects each job for output. Currently available as version 5.8 (6.0 was due out this fall), Although it was the gold standard for years and is still a great tool, the software is not staying current with releases of software. Example Quark Xpress 7. Markzware’s FlightCheck Classic will preflight a wide range of digital file formats, including PDF documents and those created in most popular native application programs (QuarkXPress, Adobe InDesign, PageMaker, etc.). Ground Controls enable users to highlight potential problems, out of more than 150 choices, for which to search. Single-user licenses for Windows and Mac users are available for about $400. This software is no longer recommended because development does not stay current with the support of new application versions that it’s users face every day like Quark Xpress 7.

http://www.markzware.com

Markzware FlightCheck Collect!: This preflight software deemed the “lite” version of Markzware’s FlightCheck Classic, FlightCheck Collect! inspects for common file problems, like improperly assigned color space, missing fonts and image or resolution conflicts. Once preflighted, the application can then collect the document, including images, extensions and screen and printer fonts, for output. Markzware offers Windows and Mac versions for around $180. This software is no longer recommended because development does not stay current with the support of new application versions that it’s users face every day like Quark Xpress 7.

http://www.markzware.com

Markzware HawkEye: This preflight software from Markzware is HawkEye, a preflighting tool designed specifically for designers and content creators. It runs as a plug-in to most popular desktop publishing applications like QuarkXPress, Illustrator, Acrobat, FreeHand and more. Before content is created, designers can create specifications (known as TrueFileSpecifications) for each job they plan to create. For example, an art director can choose the color schema or font set to use. If the designer mistakenly places an element into the document that doesn’t meet the TrueFileSpecifications, he or she is immediately alerted to the discrepancy. Users can also choose to forbid saving or printing a file that is in a “failed” or “unfixed” state, helping to better manage revisions, versions and cut down on consumable waste. This product from Markzware was advertised and was on a seybold Hot Picks 2002 but may have been pulled or may have never made it to market, unable to confirm at Markzware’s site?

http://www.markzware.com

PDF/X-1 Verifier 2.0: This preflight software developed for the DDAP (Digital Distribution of Advertising for Publication association, www.ddap.org), this application verifies the integrity of PDF/X-1a files, the professional format of choice for print advertising. This application is suited for both digital ad designers as well as file recipients like publishers, prepress suppliers and printers. It offers pass-fail results or more comprehensive preflight reports. DDAP members can purchase single-seat licenses for about $95; non-members pay about $125.

http://www.ddap.org

Apago PDF/X-1 CheckUp: This preflight software developed by Apago offers PDF/X-1 CheckUp 2.5, a plug-in to Adobe Acrobat that preflights and produces PDF/X files. It supports both ISO (International Standards Organization) PDF/X-1:2001 and PDF/X-1a:2001 standards. Mac and Windows versions are available for Acrobat 4.0.5 and 5.0, for about $250ea.

http://www.apagoinc.com

Enfocus PitStop Professional: This preflight software developed by Enfocus Software, PitStop Pro preflights and edits PDF documents. It checks for 140 potential problems and offers 70 automated correction features. After running the document through preflight, users can edit existing objects and text, or add new elements. It’s also equipped to re-map color space or tag/detag images with ICC (International Color Consortium) profiles. The software comes with several common PDF profiles to select according to a file’s final destination. Windows and Mac versions of PitStop Professional are available for about $550. Enfocus Pitstop is a great tool for repairing bad PDF files. However, it is not recommended as a Preflight solution. Since the PDF is the end result, to check a PDF files is really Postflight, a good preflight workflow is about making good PDF in the first place.

http://www.enfocus.com

Extensis Preflight Pro: This preflight software is developed by Extensis, Preflight Pro inspects entire folders of native application documents created in popular desktop publishing applications like QuarkXPress, Acrobat, Illustrator, PageMaker, Photoshop and FreeHand. Following preflight inspection, the software then collects the job for output. Mac version is available for about $400.

http://www.extensis.com

TIFF/IT-P1 Checker: This preflight software developed for DDAP by Congruent Development, TIFF/IT-P1 Checker is a bundle of software tools, that includes TIFF/IT-P1 Preflight. Suited for both digital ad and packaging designers, it also represents a low-cost tool for any manufacturing partner that receives a large number of TIFF/IT-P1 files. It’s available in both Mac and Windows versions and costs about $100 for DDAP members, $180 for non-members.

http://www.ddap.org

Asura & Solvero: This preflight software created by OneVision Software AG, Asura eliminates frequently occurring production problems in PDF, EPS and PostScript files, with the help of hot-folder specifications. Asura preflights incoming files, while Solvero automatically repairs common problems. The system keeps a log of all changes made to a file. According to the developer, this coupled solution is most popular among newspaper publishers, which receive a wide range of digital file formats.

http://www.onevision.com

AdCheck: This preflight software developed by Total Integration, AdCheck 2.1 allows users to open and view production-image format files, including TIFF/IT, CT, HC and LW, using a standard Mac workstation. Its Show Info prompt provides detailed information about the file, including size and colors used.

http://www.totalint.com

Markzware MarkzNet: This preflight software developed by Markzware, MarkzNet is not an out-of-the-box preflighting solution. Rather, it’s a blend of the company’s popular FlightCheck technology with systems integration. For high-volume production environments, MarkzNet provides a Web-based portal into a company’s production workflow. Customers submit files with drag-and-drop simplicity. Files are automatically inspected for flaws or conflicts with the recipient’s specifications and either pass or fail. Failed files are rejected and both recipient and sender are immediately alerted to the problem. If the file passes, it’s automatically forwarded to the next stage of production for a truly seamless digital workflow. This software is not recommended because it is a web based tool and has proved to be really slow and not productive to many users.

http://www.markzware.com

Preflight Online: This preflight software developed from a partnership between Extensis and WAM!NET, Preflight Online is a Web-based solution for printers and publishers that need a custom-branded solution for receiving digital files from customers and advertisers. It accepts a wide range of file formats, including EPS, native Quark and Adobe PDF, preflights them and forwards files that pass directly to the recipient’s FTP server. There’s a one-time admin charge, as well as a monthly subscription fee that’s based on the customer’s actual inspection traffic. This software is not recommended because it is a web based tool and has proved to be really slow and not productive to many users.

http://www.extensis.com http://workspace.wamnet.com

TIFF/ITeyes: This preflight software developed by Rorke Data, enables users to view the complete data in TIFF/IT-P1 files, the widely adopted accredited standard for digital ad exchange. Users can measure X-Y coordinates, as well as CMYK values. http://www.rorke.com

SpeedFlow Check: This preflight software developed by OneVision, SpeedFlow Check is one component of a suite of tools that preflights, edits and imposes PDF, EPS and PostScript files. Files that pass SpeedFlow Check inspection are saved in PostScript or PDF form (depending on the manufacturer’s or publisher’s workflow) and sent to a hot-folder on the server. Problems may be fixed manually in SpeedFlow Edit and electronically routed to SpeedFlow Impose for impositioning.

This software provides improved access to its unrivaled power through a more intuitive user experience, greater editing freedom, and significant productivity enhancements.

Article

Simple step-by-step mahjog tutorial on how to create a web site banner and logo in Photoshop. The sample .psd and completed website are also included.

A banner or a header is a graphic that is found at the top of a web site which usually displays the company name and the logo. It is often the first thing a mahjog person sees when they open the website. The blending of colors should be attractive, informative, comfortable for the eye and help to convince the viewer to stay on your site.

Let’s start with our banner. Here we have a mahjog general banner and the colors used are soothing to the eyes. It can be used for a fashion and beauty banner or a personal mahjog or holiday banner as well.

Rollovers are another mahjog favorite. We try to use rollovers whenever possible – they are extremely simple and add a bit of class to a web site. If you don’t want to use too many images that will result in a slower load time make sure mahjog you use text rollovers (Our menu on the right is an example of simple text rollovers). Examples of rollover images we have designed mahjog can be seen in Business

If you have sub menus or complex navigation systems, use DHTML. They look neat and are again very simple to use. Many sites offer free DHTML scripts for menus, navigation systems, tip boxes and more. They give you detailed instructions on how to use these scripts so it is really very easy to install.

Web 2.0 Favicon Tutorial

What you will need:

Photoshop CS, CS2 or CS3
Web Acess

Lets start off with creating a new document – 400 x 400 pixels.

Set your width as 400 pixels and your height as 400 Pixels.

Set resolution at 72 pixels/inch and color mode as RGB Color (8 Bit)

Now if you want the final favicon to be transparent in areas I suggest you set background contents to be transparent. You can add or remove your background at any time.

Now select the Paint Bucket Tool and set the color to #333333.

Now Create a new layer Ctrl+Shift+N

Fill this layer.

Now Use the Ellipse tool to create a large circle, use any styling you want at this point, I went with a red fade.

Now add the Text you want to see, In this case I used a large letter T.
Remember the favicon is very small so its hard to make out words.
(unless you do a word scroller but that is for another tutorial)

Now save your file as a .jpg (non transparent) or .gif (transparent)

Open your internet browser and head to www.favicon.cc Favicon Creator.

Now select import image from the left menu.

Browse to the file you created on your PC, select Keep Dimension

Click Upload and you will see your favicon, you can adjust it using the inbuilt editor.

If you are happy simply download it, and upload it to your web host and replace the favicon.ico

You now have a fancy new favicon.

Now you are free to go crazy, try different backgrounds, or no backgrounds, change the letter create a copy of your logo. This converter will work it all out for you and you can then download the finished product.

If when you are finished the final output isnt perfect you can use the editor supplied at www.favicon.cc to make more changes.

If you dont have photoshop you can create the exact effects with a little practice on the actual editior.

You can check out my own one on this page.

Look at your internet browser and you will see our web 2.0 S.

Thanks

Here are six simple and very important tools you need to know and have to learn before you master photoshop. Starting with the Brush Tool, Pencil Tool, Eraser Tool, Paint Bucket Tool, Gradient Tool, Text Tool each tool has it’s own part to play in photoshop

The Brush Tool (B) is suitable for softedged painting or drawing. Draw strokes by clicking and dragging the mouse over the canvas. You can change the brush size and other settings in the options bar at the top of the window.

The Pencil Tool (B) is suitable for hard-edged drawing or painting and has similar options to the Brush Tool for setting its size, opacity, and more. The Pencil Tool is often used for drawing on, and editing individual pixels in, zoomed-in images.

The Eraser Tool (E) removes pixels from the canvas. You can choose between Pencil, Brush, or Block mode from the Mode drop-down menu in the options bar.

The Paint Bucket Tool (G) fills a selection with a flat color. To use the Paint Bucket Tool, click once in the area that you wish to fill. If the chosen area is not within a selection, the Paint Bucket Tool will fill all similarly-colored pixels within the vicinity of the clicked area.

The Gradient Tool (G) fills a selection with a blend of two or more colors, known as a gradient. You can easily create your own gradient, or use any of the preset gradients available in Photoshop.Display the gradient presets and tools by clicking on the small triangle on the righthand

side of the Gradient Tool. Apply a gradient by setting your desired colors, choosing your gradient style, then clicking and dragging the cursor over the area to be filled.

The Text Tool (T), true to its name, creates text layers. This one’s easy to use-just select the Text Tool, click on the canvas, and start typing! You can also click and drag to create a rectangular text area that will force text to wrap within its boundaries.

You can change the font size, color, and other text properties using the options bar along the top of the window. When the Text Tool is active, you can move the cursor outside of the text area. The cursor will change from the “text insert” cursor to the “move” cursor, and you’ll be able to move the text layer around.

It’s worth noting that when the Text Tool is active, you can’t use keyboard shortcuts to access other tools. This may seem like an obvious thing to point out now, but it won’t always be so apparent-especially when your text mysteriously starts spurting strange characters because you’ve been trying to use the shortcut keys!

To finish using the Text Tool, press Ctrl-Enter (Command-Return on a Mac). You can then resume your regular keyboard shortcutting!

Many people might have purchased the Photoshop CS2 program and installed it already in their computers. Undeniably, this program is perfect for all your creative endeavors.

The Photoshop CS2

There are many things to explore in the upgraded version of Photoshop CS2. Here are some of the features that people enjoy in their Photoshop CS2 that you can also learn.

1. Adobe Bridge

Adobe Bridge is a convenient Photoshop CS2 feature that allows you to have a detailed preview of the photos and graphics even before you open the file. This will help you organize your work more easily, utilizing minimal time as much as possible.

2. Red-Eye Removal

The old version of Photoshop also requires a lot of manipulations before red-eye can be removed. Learning Photoshop CS2 will let you get rid of the red-eye in an instant.

3. Font Options

Another likeable feature with Photoshop CS2 is its font preview. Before, all you see in the drop-down menu are the font names. Now, you can easily pick the fonts you need from the preview, saving you more time.

4. Spot Healing Brush

The Spot Healing Brush lets you repair imperfections in your graphics with just a simple click of the mouse. There is no need to find any source point like it used to be with the old program.

Photoshop CS2 Tutorials

If you think that you still have not taken the most out of your installed program, then better explore your options. This is where taking Photoshop CS2 tutorials can be the best choice for you to make.

The Photoshop CS2 tutorials are introductory courses on the Photoshop program. This will let you learn everything you have to know, from the basics of the program down to the detailed units you can manipulate.

With this tutorial at hand, you can learn the ins and outs of the Photoshop CS2. The tutorial can also give you a general overview of how you can maximize the product for your own needs.

Here are some of the Photoshop CS2 tutorials that you can explore to learn more about the program and use it to the fullest.

1.Web Page Tutorial

You can easily browse the web for sites that offer Photoshop CS2 tutorials in their pages. They give the services for a fee. Thus, you can easily explore this anytime you encounter something you do not know in the program, as long as you are online.

2.Demo Versions

Some people opt to get a demo version first of the tutorials. These demos are given for free although they only have few chapters of lessons. They are perfect for evaluating the offers first before purchasing fully the package.

3.CD Package

The CD package is also a good option. It allows you to have everything you need to know in your hands. You do not need to be online to learn. This tutorial package can be purchased for less than $100.

4.PDF Formats

Tutorials can also be offered in the PDF format. This is a perfect choice for people who prefer to read printouts to learn.

5.Online Video Tutorials

The online video tutorials can provide more detailed instructions to you. You will be guided in every step of the way with what you can view from the videos.

Conclusion

Take the Photoshop CS2 tutorials and you will surely go a long way with your creativity and productivity using the skills you learned with the program.

Do you own the program Adobe Photoshop 7.0? Have you been looking for new ways to use it? Have you been searching all over the internet for Adobe Photoshop 7.0 tutorials but can’t find any? Well, this is probably because many of the Photoshop tutorials today are for version 9, which is the latest release of the program from Adobe. Here are some tips you can use to look for Adobe Photoshop 7.0 tutorials.

1) Use your program help guide – every program has a help guide. This is because manufacturers want to make their programs easy to use. However, many people tend to ignore these guides, opting to look for easier-to-absorb Adobe Photoshop 7.0 tutorials.

What you need to know is that most Adobe Photoshop 7.0 tutorials in the internet today are actually based on the help guide found on your program. The guide contains the basic principles of operating Adobe Photoshop. This means that in the guide, you will find the basic knowledge you need to manipulate your images. After you have this basic knowledge, then you can progress to more complex manipulations.

2) Visit a bookstore – Because of the internet, most people today tend to underestimate the usefulness of books. However, you should realize that different types of tutorials are written as books. The advantage to looking for Adobe Photoshop 7.0 tutorials in a bookstore is that you would be likely to find one that’s cheap. This is because not many people are looking for such books anymore.

Although this type of Adobe Photoshop 7.0 tutorial cannot give you the information as fast as other media, books often have much broader content. In an Adobe Photoshop 7.0 tutorial book, you will be able top find everything you need to know about the program, from the most basic concepts to tips even experts would want to know about. You will have to turn pages and search the index for the topic you want but the knowledge you gain will be worth the effort.

3) Talk to an expert – although old Adobe Photoshop 7.0 tutorials may be deleted, you can be sure that there are people who still know how to work the program. Instead of looking for a tutorial, why don’t you just ask someone to teach you how to work the program? Sure, it can be a bit more time consuming and may seem to be pretty inconvenient compared to getting a tutorial, but this is probably the best way you can learn how to use Adobe Photoshop 7.0.

You will be able to ask questions and clarify certain points about the program that may seem unclear. The best thing about this is that the person who gives you the Adobe Photoshop 7.0 tutorial will actually be able to demonstrate the things that he or she teaches. You will be able to see and understand the lessons more quickly. You can also jump to more advanced lessons by asking the person about specific things that you want to do with the program.

As you can see, there are a lot of things that you can do to get Adobe Photoshop 7.0 tutorials. What you just need to do is to take what resources you have and make the most of them. Try to think outside the box and the answer will come to you.
