Burning picture files to a dvd??
admin | Jun 26, 2010 | Comments 3
First off, I’m pretty computer illiterate, anyway….I’m looking to save picture files from my hard drive to a dvd. I was told/heard that DVD’s hold more….so I went with them. They are Imation Brand, DVD-R 16x 2hr…..what ever that means…anway, I have adobe photoshop album starter addition….and the hell if I can find anything that shows how to burn to disc. And when I do "find" something" it turns out to be nothing……I’m also running Windows XP if that means anything….any help would be great!!
and maybe, just maybe, is there an easy way to add sound??
First, I’ll help you understand what’s on the label:
DVD-R: this is the type of writable DVD you purchased. There are two standards: DVD+R and DVD-R. There are variances between the two, but for general burning, you don’t need to know about them, only if your drive supports them.
16x: This is the maximum speed at which your drive can write to this disc. 16x is the fastest speed available for DVDs right now.
2hr: This just means it can hold two hours worth of video at the standard DVD resolution. This also means you have a 4.7 GB disc.
Now, to actually write the files to your DVD, you should have received a program with your DVD burner to help you write files to a DVD. It’ll be Nero, Roxio, or something similar. This is what you use to write all of your image files to a DVD, and it should have a nice wizard to help you with the process.
Hope this helps.
