@Designing5 The patch tool, and spot healing brush, tends to “smudge” when it’s brought too close to a transition area where the pixels are a very different colour. The faded or blurry repair may be due to the area you’re selecting being too close to some very different pixels that are being blended into the repair.

When I use the …
When I use the healing brush, I don’t get an accurate repair. Just like “heavyjavadrinker” I get faded or blurry around the repair. I don’t know if the brush size or hardness settings have anything to do with it but it behaves like the hardness is “zero”. Please help. Thanks for this great tutorial!

the spot healing brush only uses the thinks right outside the circle of the brush circle itself, it has nothing to do with if it is near an eye…
