Some very nice shortcuts you may not know about. I’ve never seen them used in any other tutorials out there. They are, however, in the documentation.

The pop-up Edit Brush Menu (brush blending modes), the convert Background Layer to a regular layer, *and* the duplicate/move layers shortcuts, however, I cannot find in the Adobe documentation… anywhere! There might be other easter eggs around too…

Tutorial: How to load PAT files in Photoshop CS4 (though the same approach can be used with CS5 CS3 CS2 etc) PC or MAC and use them. The PAT files used in this video are from graphicxtras.com (c) 2010 Andrew Buckle. Once loaded via the replace or load command, the patterns are applied as a pattern fill layer, duplicated, shift, scaled etc; also the pattern layers are rasterized allowing for the use of Photoshop layer styles to the pattern and effects and re-coloring of the pattern.
